Additional Learning Needs
🌈 Additional Learning Needs (ALN) at Sealand Primary School.
At Sealand Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is valued, supported, and encouraged to achieve their full potential. We recognise that some children may need additional support with their learning, development, or well-being — and we are here to help.
Our approach to Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is child-centred and built around collaboration between families, school staff, and external professionals. We provide a range of tailored strategies and interventions to ensure that each child receives the right support at the right time.
We believe:
Every child is unique, with their own strengths, challenges, and ways of learning.
Early identification and support are key to helping pupils succeed.
Partnership with parents and carers is essential to positive outcomes.
Whether your child needs support with speech and language, literacy, social skills, or emotional regulation, our dedicated ALN team is here to listen and work with you every step of the way.
Working Together
We follow the guidance set out by the ALN Code for Wales and ensure that all pupils with additional learning needs are supported through a clear, structured process. This includes Individual Development Plans (IDPs), regular reviews, and open communication with families.
If you would like more information or wish to discuss your child’s needs, please don’t hesitate to contact our ALNCo (Additional Learning Needs Coordinator), Mrs Roberts, via the school office.
