A message from the Headteacher – Mr. R. Davies

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Sealand Primary School. We are proud to be a caring, inclusive and ambitious school where children are encouraged to be happy, confident and curious learners. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and supported to achieve their very best.

Our school prospectus provides an introduction to life at Sealand, including information about our organisation, curriculum, policies, ethos and the opportunities we provide for our learners. It is reviewed annually to ensure that the information remains relevant and up to date.

Sealand Primary School is an English-medium Local Authority primary school with a planned admission number of 30 pupils in each year group. From the moment children join us, we aim to ensure that they are welcomed, inspired and nurtured throughout their primary school journey.

Our aim is to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children experience a broad range of learning opportunities, develop confidence and independence, and are supported and challenged to fulfil their potential. We want our learners not only to succeed academically, but also to develop the values, skills and attitudes they need to become responsible, caring and active members of their community.

Our school motto, ‘Working, Learning and Growing Together’, reflects our belief that children achieve their best when pupils, families, staff and the wider community work in partnership. Our vision and values have been shaped through consultation with our school community and continue to influence school life and the decisions we make. We value our strong links with families and the local community and recognise the important contribution these partnerships make to children's learning, wellbeing and development.

The school was last inspected by Estyn, His Majesty's Inspectorate for Education and Training in Wales, in October 2019, when standards and performance were judged to be good. Our inspection reports can be accessed through the Estyn website.

We hope that this prospectus gives you a flavour of what makes Sealand Primary School such a special place to learn and grow. Most importantly, we recognise that successful education is a partnership. By working together, we aim to ensure that every child is safe, happy, successful and proud to belong to our school community.
