The school should be informed as soon as possible, preferably by via phone message or letter, if your child is absent owing to illness, or for any other reason. We will send a text/mobile app Schoolcomms message on first day of absence if we have not been informed of absence and would anticipate a response. Attendance is monitored half termly by the Headteacher and LA Educational Welfare Officer (EWO) and attendance information letters are sent to parents where their child’s attendance is a concern. Where a child’s attendance raises consistent concern then relevant referral/action will be taken with the EWO. Attendance is also reported to you at all parent/teacher meetings. The school will only authorise 10 days holiday per academic year. Pupil, class and school attendance target is 95% and above (as recommended by Welsh Government).
